London Buses route W6 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Southgate and Edmonton Green, it is operated by Arriva London.

History Edit

Route W6 commenced operation on 1 February 1992, running between Lower Edmonton Station and Southgate Station via Church Street -Victoria Road - Northern Avenue - Haslebury Road - Silver Street - Cambridge Roundabout - Hedge Lane - Green Lanes - Aldermans Hill - Cannon Hill - High Street as a Monday to Friday route. The route was initially operated by Capital Citybus from their Northumberland Park (NP) garage using Optare Metroriders and Mercedes Benz 811Ds.

In 1994, a Sunday service was introduced.

In April 2001, the route was converted to low floor operation using Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

In 2011, the route passed to Arriva London operating from their Lea Valley (LV) garage with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs introduced.

In March 2014, the allocation was transferred to Edmonton (EC) garage.

On 8 November 2014, the allocation was transferred from Edmonton (EC) to Enfield (E) garages.

On 25 February 2017, the additional journey operated by Edmonton (EC) garage was withdrawn.

In November 2017, the Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were be replaced by brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds. 

On 3 February 2018, the route was retained by Arriva London.
