London Buses route W4 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Oakthorpe Park Estate and Ferry Lane Estate, it is operated by Arriva London.
Route W4 commenced operation on 30 November 1991, a Monday to Saturday route between Wood Green Redvers Road and Tottenham Hale via West Green Road - Belmont Road - Downhills - Park Road - Higham Road - Gloucester Road - The Avenue - Broadwater Road - Radley Road - Bruce Grove - High Road. The route was initially operated by London Northern from their Holloway (HT) garage using Optare MetroRiders.
In 1992, the route was extended from Tottenham Hale to Ferry Lane replacing withdrawn section of Route 41. A Sunday service was introduce at the same time.
In 1995, the alloctation was transferrd from Holloway (HT) garage to Potters Bar (PB) garage.
In 1996, the route was rerouted at Broadwater Farm Estate via Willan Road instead of the Avenue.
In 1997, the route was extended from Wood Green to Oakthorpe Park.
In 2006, the route was rerouted to serve the loop at Broadwater Farm Estate.
In 2011, the route was passed to First London operating from their Northumberland Park (NP) garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
In 2014, Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were introduced.
Due to road works in Wood Green, on 5 January 2015, the route was temporarily split operating in two sections either side: Oakthorpe Park - Wood Green Station and West Green Road - Jarrow Road. It resumed operating via Wood Green High Road on 30 May 2015.
In July 2015, a Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLF was introduced.
On 3 February 2018, the route passed to Arriva London operating from their Wood Green (WN) garage using brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
