London Buses route W3 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Northumberland Park and Finsbury Park, it is operated by Arriva London.
Route W3 commenced operating on 7 September 1968 between Northumberland Park and Finsbury Park via Park Lane - Willoughby Lane - Northumberland Park - Tottenham High Road - White Hart Lane - Creighton Road - White Hart Lane - Perth Road - Lordship Lane - Station Road - Buckingham Road - Bridge Road - Bedford Road - Alexandra Palace Way - Priory Road - Hornsey High Street - Middle Lane - Rokesly Avenue - Tottenham Lane - Ferme Park Road - Stapleton Hall Road - Stroud Green Road - Morris Place as a Monday to Friday and Sunday service. Operating from Wood Green (WN) garage using Metro-Cammell bodied AEC Merlins. The route was introduced to replace withdrawn route 233.
In 1969, a Saturday service was introduced to replace withdrawn routes W5 and W6.
In 1974, the route was converted to double deck using Daimler Fleetlines.
In 1981, the Daimler Fleetlines were replaced by MCW Metrobuses.
In 2000, the route was converted to low floor using Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 16 October 2004, the route was retained by Arriva London using Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
In 2008, Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs were introduced.
On 15 October 2011, the route was retained by Arriva London using Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs and Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs. The allocation was transferred to Lea Valley (LV) garage at the same time.
In 2012, the Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs and Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs were replaced by brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.
On 1 March 2014, Lea Valley (LV) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred back to Wood Green (WN) garage.
On 5 June 2014, a brand new Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5TL demonstrator was temporarily introduced.
In February 2016, Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B5LHs were introduced.
On 20 August 2016, a half hourly weekend night service was introduced.
On 15 October 2016, the route was retained by Arriva London.
