London Buses route U2 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Uxbridge and Brunel University, it is operated by Metroline.
Route U2 commenced operating on 27 May 1989 and provided a service between Uxbridge Station and Hillingdon Hospital via Hercies Road - Hillingdon Station - Long Lane - Granville Road - Windsor Avenue then between 0930 and 1600 Ryefield Avenue, Leybourne Road, Grosvenor Crescent and other times direct via Windsor Avenue - Long Lane - Uxbridge Road - Lees Road - Pield Heath Road as a Monday to Saturday route. The route was operated by CentreWest from their Uxbridge (UX) garage using Alexander bodied Mercedes-Benz 811Ds. The route was introduced to mainly replacing Route 98.
On 18 August 1991, a Sunday service was introduced which partly replaced Route U8 which was withdrawn.
On 3 May 1998, the Alexander bodied Mercedes-Benz 811Ds were replaced by Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Darts.
On 3 May 2003, the route was retained by First London with brand new Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart SLFs introduced.
On 31 January 2009, the route was extended from Hillingdon Hospital to Brunel University.
In 2010, the route was retained by First London.
In November 2015, the Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
In September 2016, brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20D's were temporarily introduced.
The route will be retained by Metroline from 29 April 2017.
