London Buses route N7 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Oxford Circus and Northolt, it is operated by Metroline.
History[]
Night route N7 commenced operation on 30 August 2003 between Northolt Station and Russell Square via Greenford Broadway - Ealing Broadway Station - The Mall - Ealing Common Station - Uxbridge Road - Acton High Street - Old Oak Common Lane - East Acton - Hammersmith Hospital - Ladbroke Grove Station - Westbourne Park - Paddington Station - Edgware Road - Marble Arch Station - Oxford Circus Station - Tottenham Court Road Station - Great Russell Street (for British Museum) - Montague Street. The route was introduced to replace route N23 between Northolt and Ladbroke Grove. The route was initially operated by First CentreWest from their Alperton (ON) garage using Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs.
On 23 June 2007, the route passed to Metroline operating from their Perivale East (PV) garage using new East Lancs Olympus bodied Scania N230UDs.
On 23 June 2012, Perivale East (PV) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to Perivale West (PA) garage.
On 16 June 2014, due to the partial closure of Oxford Street for Crossrail works, the route was temporarily withdrawn between Oxford Circus and Russell Square. It resumed operating to Russell Square in August 2014.
On 21 June 2014, the route was retained by Metroline with brand new Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs introduced.
On 26 October 2014, the route was permanently withdrawn between Oxford Circus and Russell Square.
On 6 August 2016, the allocation was transferred back to the reopened Perivale East (PV) garage.
On 28 April 2018, the allocation was transferred back to Perivale West (PA) garage.
On 12 December 2020, the allocation was transferred back to Perivale East (PV) garage.
On 19 June 2021, the route was retained by Metroline.
On 3 July 2021, brand new Wright Streetdeck FCEVs were introduced alongside existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 5 August 2021, the route was converted to full Wright Streetdeck FCEV operation.
On 2 February 2022, the Wright StreetDeck FCEVs were temporarily replaced by Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 18 July 2022, Wright StreetDeck FCEVs were reintroduced.
On 28 December 2022, the existing Wright StreetDeck FCEVs were temporarily replaced by Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 21 February 2023, existing Wright StreetDeck FCEVs were reintroduced.
On 12 February 2024, the Wright StreetDeck FCEVs were temporarily replaced by Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 13 February 2024, existing Wright StreetDeck FCEVs were reintroduced.
