London Buses route N38 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Victoria and Walthamstow Central stations, it is operated by Arriva London.

History

Route N38 commenced operating on 14 July 1995 running between Trafalgar Square and Chingford Hatch or Chingford Station. The route replaced withdrawn route N96. The route was initially operated by Stagecoach East London from Leyton garage (T) using Leyland Titans.

On 19 July 1997, the route passed to Cowie Leaside operating from Clapton (CT) garage using Leyland Olympians. The Central London terminal changed to Victoria as per day 38 at the same time.

On 28 April 2001, the route was withdrawn between Walthamstow and Chingford Hatch, the Chingford Station leg replaced by Route N26.

On 18 July 2009, the route was retained by Arriva London. On 14 November 2009, brand new Wright Gemini 2 bodied VDL DB300s were introduced.

On 10 May 2014, New Routemasters were introduced.
