London Buses route N343 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between New Cross Gate and Trafalgar Square, it is operated by London Central.

History Edit

Night bus N343 commenced operation on 02 February 2001 between Victoria and New Cross Garage via Westminster - Trafalgar Square - Aldwych - Waterloo Bridge - Stamford Street - Southwark Street - London Bridge Station - Borough - Elephant - Aylesbury Estate - North Peckham Estate - Peckham - Peckham Rye - Brockley - Frensbury Road - or Pepys Road. The route was introduced to replace a section of withdrawn route N84 between New Cross Garage and Victoria. The route was initially operated by London Central from their Peckham (PM) and Camberwell (Q) garages using Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs.

In 2001, the route was retained by London Central and the Peckham (PM) allocation was withdrawn.

In 2006, the route passed to Travel London operating from their Walworth (WL) garage with Wright Eclipe Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs introduced.

On 21 May 2009, route N343 was included in the sale of Travel London to Abellio London.

In 2009, the Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs were replaced by Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.

In 2011, the route was retained by Abellio London.

In 2016, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were replaced by Alexander Dennis Enviro 400Hs.

On 3 February 2018, the route passed to London Central operating from their New Cross (NX) garage using brand new Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander E40Hs.
