London Buses route N253 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Aldgate and Tottenham Court Road, it is operated by Arriva London.
Route N253 commenced operating on 3 September 1993 running between Euston and Aldgate via Whitechapel, Bethnal Green, Hackney, Clapton, Stamford Hill, Amhurst Park, Manor House, Finsbury Park, Holloway and Camden Town. The route was operated by Leaside Buses from their Stamford Hill using Alexander bodied Leyland Olympians.
On 25 November 1994, the route was extended to Trafalgar Square.
On 12 May 1995, the allocation was moved to Clapton (CT) garage.
On 29 May 1998, the route was withdrawn between Tottenham Court Road and Trafalgar Square.
On 31 March 2002, the route was converted to low floor operation using Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 31 March 2006, the allocation was moved to Stamford Hill (SF) garag3.
On 4 September 2009, the Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs were replaced by Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs.
On 29 June 2011, the Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs were replaced by Wright Gemini 2 bodied VDL DB300s.
In December 2012, the Wright Gemini 2 bodied VDL DB300s were replaced by Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
In November 2016, the Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B5LHs were replaced by brand New Routemasters.
