London Buses route N109 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Croydon and Oxford Circus, it is operated by Transport UK London Bus.
History[]
Route N109 began operating on 11 March 1994 between Aldwych and Croydon via Trafalgar Square, Brixton, and Streatham then continued either to New Addington or to Coulsdon via Purley. This was discontinued on 17 September 1999 and was replaced by new route N159.
On 28 August 2010, route N109 was reintroduced to replace the discontinued route N159 between Oxford Circus and Croydon. It was initially operated by Arriva London from their Thornton Heath (TH) garage using Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.
On 31 March 2012, the route was transferred to Brixton (BN) garage and the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were replaced by Wright Pulsar Gemini bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 31 January 2015, the route passed to Abellio London from their Beddington Cross (BC) garage with brand new Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E40Hs introduced.
On 1 February 2020, the route was retained by Abellio London.
On 2 March 2024, Abellio London was rebranded to Transport UK London Bus.
