London Buses route EL1 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Barking Reach and Ilford, it is operated by Blue Triangle.


History 

Route EL1 commenced on 20 February 2010 between Ilford Hill and Thames View Estate via Chapel Road - Winston Way - Ilford Lane - Fanshawe Avenue - Longbridge Road - Station Parade - Ripple Road - Movers Lane - River Road - Bastable Avenue - Bastable Avenue Bus-Only Slip Road. The route was initially operated by Blue Triangle operating from Rainham (BE) garage using Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs. The route was introduced to replace withdrawn route 369.

On 7 September 2013, the route was extended from Thames View Estate to Barking Reach.

On 2 July 2016, the allocation was transferred to River Road (RR) garage.

On 18 February 2017, the route was retained by Blue Triangle with brand New Routemasters introduced.
