London Buses route E7 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Ruislip and Ealing Broadway, it is operated by Transport UK London Bus.
History[]
The E routes were created on a new flat fare system in London, all of the E routes served Ealing except E5 and E6 do not serve Ealing at all.
The route commenced operation on 21 July 1990 between Ealing Broadway and Ruislip Sharps Lane/Manor Road via Uxbridge Road - West Ealing - Argyle Road - Ruislip Road East - Greenford - Yeading - West End Road - Ruislip Gardens Station - Ruislip Station - High Street - The Oaks as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was introduced to replace a part of withdrawn route 274 and the withdrawn section of route E2 between Ruislip and Greenford. The route was initially operated by CentreWest operating from their Hanwell (HL) garage using Wright Nimbus bodied Renault S75 minibuses.
On 12 December 1992, the route was withdrawn between Ruislip Station and Manor Road and was diverted during shopping hours to run via Waitrose, Ickenham Road, and High Street to Ruislip Station.
On 27 March 1993, Hanwell (HL) garage was announced closed and the allocation was moved to Greenford (G) garage.
On 24 May 1997, the route was retained by CentreWest and was converted to low floor using 9.4m single door Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs and a Sunday service was introduced.
On 25 May 2002, the route was retained by CentreWest.
In September 2002, the 9.4m single door Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by 10.2m dual door versions.
On 30 May 2009, the route was retained by First London.
In July 2009, the Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Darts.
On 22 June 2013, the route was included in the sale of First London's Greenford (G) garage to Metroline.
On 28 May 2016, the route passed to Abellio London operating from their Hayes (WS) garage with brand new Enviro200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds introduced.
On 29 July 2017, the allocation was transferred to Southall (AB) garage and a part of the allocation was transferred to Fulwell (TF) garage.
On 26 May 2018, the Fulwell (TF) allocation was transferred to Southall (AB) garage.
On 13 July 2019, Southall (AB) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to Armstrong Way (GW) garage.
On 27 May 2023, the route was retained by Abellio London using existing Enviro200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
On 2 March 2024, Abellio London was rebranded to Transport UK London Bus.
Existing Wright GB Kite Electroliner EVs will replace the existing Enviro200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds from 2024.
The route is being proposed to be withdrawn between Ruislip Station and Pembroke Road. At the same time, the route would be extended to Highgrove Leisure Centre.[1]
