London Buses route B13 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between New Eltham and Bexleyheath, it is operated by Arriva London.


History 

Route B13 commenced operating on 16 January 1988 and provided a service between Bexleyheath Shopping Centre and Avery Hill Road via Bexleyheath Broadway - Townley Road - Upton Road - Mount Road - Brook Lane - Sandhurst Road - Danson Road - Blackfen Road - Ramilees Road - Sherwood Park Avenue - Burnt Oak Lane - Days Lane - Halfway Street. The route was initially operated by Bexleybus from their Bexleyheath (BX) garage using MCW Metroriders and Robin Hood bodied Ivecos.

On 26 November 1988, the route was extended from Bexleyheath to Erith.

On 19 January 1991, the Sunday service was withdrawn.

On 27 April 1991, the route was extended from Avery Hill Road to New Eltham Station.

On 22 June 1991, a loop working in New Eltham was introduced via Southwood Road, Green Lane and foots Cray Road instead of terminating via Cadwallon Road and Thaxted Road.

On 22 September 1996, the Sunday service was reintroduced.

On 23 January 1999, the route passed to Arriva Kent Thameside operating from their Northfleet (NF) garage using Northern Counties Paladin bodied Dennis Darts and was withdrawn between Bexleyheath and Erith.

On 24 January 2004, the route was retained by Arriva Kent Thameside and was converted to low floor using Wright Cadet bodied DAF SB120s. The allocation was transferred to Dartford (DT) garage at the same time.

On 24 January 2009, the route was retained by Arriva Kent Thameside.

On 1 January 2016, the Arriva group restructured its bus operations, which included the transfer of route B13 from Arriva Kent Thameside to Arriva London.

On 23 January 2016, the route was retained by Arriva London with brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20D's introduced.
