London Buses route 639 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Roehampton and Battersea, it is operated by London General.


Route 639 commenced operating on 3 September 2007 between Clapham Junction and John Paul II School via Wandsworth - Southfields. The route initially operated by London General from their Stockwell (SW) garage using a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL. The route was introduced to replace journeys on route 670.

On 4 June 2011, the route was retained by London General.

On 2 October 2015, the route was re-structured to operate from Roehampton Danebury Avenue to Battersea.

On 4 June 2016, the route was retained by London General.

On 21 November 2016, the allocation was transferred to Putney (AF) garage and the Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL was replaced by a brand new Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LH.

In December 2016, a brand new Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E40H was introduced.
