London Buses route 608 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Gallows Corner and Shenfield, it is operated by Blue Triangle.

History[]

Route 608 commenced operation on 4 September 2006 between Gallows Corner and Shenfield High School via Harold Hill - Harold Park - Brentwood. The route was initially operated by East London from their Romford (NS) garage using Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Tridents.

On 3 September 2011, the route passed to First Capital operating from their Dagenham (DM) garage using Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Tridents.

On 22 June 2013, the route passed to Blue Triangle operating from their Rainham (BE) using Wright Eclipse Gemini and Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs.

In June 2014, the Wright Eclipse Gemini and Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs were replaced by Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UDs.

On 2 July 2016, Rainham (BE) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to River Road (RR) garage.

On 3 September 2016, the route was retained by Blue Triangle.

In October 2018, Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were introduced alongside the existing Optare Olympus bodied Scania N230UDs.

In November 2018, the route was converted to a full Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 operation.

On 4 September 2021, the Route was retained by Blue Triangle using existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.

In February 2022, existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400Hs were introduced alongside existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.

In April 2023, the route was temporarily converted to full Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 operation.

In July 2023, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were replaced by existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400Hs.
