London Buses route 493 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Richmond and Tooting, it is operated by London General.


Route 493 commenced operating on 23 November 2002 between Richmond and St George's Hospital via East Sheen, Roehampton, Wimbledon and Tooting. It was operated by Mitcham Belle using Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

The route was included in the 27 August 2004 sale of Mitcham Belle to Centra. When Centra ceased, the route passed to Armchair on an interim basis on 20 May 2006.

On 31 March 2007, it passed to NCP Challenger operating from their Twickenham (NC) garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Darts.

On 31 March 2012, it passed to London General operating from their Waterside Way (PL) garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
