London Buses route 488 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Dalston Junction and Bromley-by-Bow, it is operated by it is operated by Tower Transit.
Route 488 commenced operating on 5 July 2008 between Bromley-by-Bow Twelvetrees Crescent and Kenninghall Road via - - - - . The route was introduced to replace route S2. The route was initially operated by First London from their Lea Interchange (LI) garage using Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
In 2009, Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were introduced.
On 27 February 2010, it passed to East London operating from their West Ham (WH) garage with Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced.
On 10 April 2010, the route was revised at Bromley-by-Bow to terminate at Tesco (Hancock Road).
On 4 June 2011, The route was extended from Clapton Pond to Dalston Junction station.
