London Buses route 487 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Willesden Junction and South Harrow, it is operated by Metroline.
Route 487 commenced operating on 4 September 1999 between Willesden Junction and South Harrow via Park Royal - Alperton - Sudbury Hill. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn part of route 187 between between South Harrow and Park Royal. It was initially operated by London Traveller from their Harlesden (HN) garage using East Lancs Spryte bodied Volvo B6BLEs.
On 25 May 2002, the route was rerouted between Gipsy Corner and Park Royal via the full length of Park Royal Road instead of Chase Road - Minerva Road - Standard Road.
On 1 November 2002, the route was included in the sale of the London Traveller to Thorpes and the allocation was transferred to Wembley (WB) garage.
On 7 June 2003, the allocation was transferred to Perivale West (PA) garage.
On 6 March 2004, the route passed to First London operating from their Alperton (ON) garage using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
In June 2004, the Plaxton Pointer 2s were replaced by Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs loaned from Thorpes.
On 24 March 2007, the route was rerouted via grounds of Central Middlesex Hospital in order to serve new bus station
On 28 June 2008, the allocation was transferred to Willesden Junction (WJ) garage.
On 7 March 2009, the route was retained by First London with brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced.
On 28 April 2012, the allocation was transferred back to Alperton (ON) garage.
On 22 June 2013, the route was included in the sale of First London's Alperton (ON) garage to Metroline.
On 5 March 2016, the route was retained by Metroline.
