London Buses route 434 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Whyteleafe South and Rickman Hill, it is operated by London General.
Route 434 commenced operation on 30 August 2003 between Coulsdon Ridgemount Avenue and Whyteleafe Station via Rickman Hill - Chipstead Valley Road - Brighton Road - Smitham Downs Road - Smitham Bottom Lane - Woodcote Valley Road - Foxley Lane - Russel Hill Road - Purley Cross - Purley Road - Godstone Road - Foxley Hill Road - Beaumont Road - Higher Drive - Northwood Avenue - Oaks Road - Oaks Way - Park Road - Kenley Lane - Valley Road - Beverley Road - Hornchurch Hill - Whytleafe Hill - Godstone Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by Metrobus from their Crawley (CY) garage using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 16 October 2003, the allocation was transferred to Godstone (GD) garage.
On 30 September 2006, the route was extended from Whyteleafe Station to Whyteleafe South.
On 30 August 2008, the route passed to Travel London operating from their Beddington Cross (BC) garage using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 4 October 2008, the Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
In May 2009, the route was included in the sale of Travel London to Abellio London.
On 31 August 2013, the route passed to Metrobus operating from their Croydon (C) garage using Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts and a Sunday service was introduced.
In July 2014, the Go-Ahead Group restructured its bus operations, which included the transfer of Route 434 from Metrobus to Go-Ahead London.
