London Buses route 418 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Epsom and Kingston, it is operated by Quality Line.


History Edit

Route 418 commenced operating on 23 February 2002 running between Kingston Cromwell Road Bus Station and Epsom Clock Tower via Penryhn Road - Surbiton Crescent - Surbiton Station - St Mark's Hill - Ewell Road - Tolworth - Kingston Road - Ruxley Lane - East Street as a Monday to Saturday Service. The route was initially operated by London United from their Tolworth (TV) garage using MCW Metrobuses. Prior to 23 February 2002, the route was a commercial route operated by Arriva Guildford & West Surrey.

On 29 June 2002, the Sunday service was introduced and the route was to low floor single deck operation using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

On 3 September 2005, the Sunday service was converted to double deck operation using Volvo Olympians.

On 30 June 2007, the route passed to Quality Line operating from their Epsom (EB) garage with brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s introduced.

On 28 June 2014, the route was retained by Quality Line.
