London Buses route 399 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Hadley Wood and Barnet, it is operated by London General.

History Edit

Route 399 commenced operation on 3 April 1993 between Barnet General Hospital and Barnet General Hospital as a circular route. The route was operated by Sovereign from their Hatfield (SO) garage.

In 1994, the route was withdrawn in Barnet between High Street and General Hospital - journys now projected via Barnet Hill to Western Way.

In 1996, the route passed to Thamesway operating from their Ponders End (PE) garage and withdrawn Between Barnet and Western Way.

In 1998, the route passed to First Capital but still operating from Ponders End (PE) garage.

In February 2001, the allocation was transferred from Ponders End (PE) to Northumberland Park (NP) garages with low floor Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs introduced.

In 2006 and 2011, the route was retained by First London.

In April 2011, the Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLF were replaced by a brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Dart.

In March 2012, route 399 was included in the sale of First London's Northumberland Park (NP) garage to London General.

The route will pass to Sullivan Buses and will be operating from their South Mimms (SM) garage using a brand new Wright StreetLite from 7 April 2018.
