London Buses route 396 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between King George Hospital and Ilford, it is operated by .
Route 396 was introduced on 27 July 1996 between ILFORD Roden Street and KING GEORGE HOSPITAL via Cranbrook Road - Gants Hill Station - Eastern Avenue - Newbury Park Station - Little Heath. It was initially operated by Capital Citybus from their Dagenham (DM) garage using Optare Excels.
On 23 March 2002, the route passed to Stagecoach East London operating from their Barking (BK) garage using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 28 March 2009, the route was retained by East London using brand new Optare Versas.
In 2011, brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were introduced.
On 29 March 2014, the route was retained by Stagecoach London.
