London Buses route 379 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Chingford and Yardley Lane Estate, it is operated by London General.

History Edit

Route 379 commenced operating on 16 October 1987 between Chingford Station and Yardley Lane Estate via Kings Head Hill - Sewardstone Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by Grey Green from their Stamford Hill (GG) garage using Leyland Lynx vehicles. The route is a renumbering of 179A.

In 1989, it passed to Eastern National operating from their Ponders End (PE) garage and was converted to to Minibus operation.

In 1990, the route and garage was transferred to Thamesway,

In 1998, the route and garage was transferred to First Capital.

In 2001, the allocation was transferred to Northumberland Park (NP) garage.

In 2004, the route was converted to low floor operation using Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

In 2007, the route passed to Arriva London operating from their Edmonton (EC) garage with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

In 2012, the route was retained by Arriva London with Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced. The allocation was transferred to Lea Valley (LV) garage.

In 2013, the allocation was transferred to Enfield (E) garage.

On 11 March 2017, the route passed to London General operating from their Northumberland Park (NP) garage using East Lancs Esteem bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

On 21 July 2017, the East Lancs Esteem bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by brand new Wright StreetLites.
