London Buses route 371 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Kingston and Richmond Manor Circus, it is operated by London United.

HistoryEdit

Route 371 commenced operating on 2 September 1990 and provided a service between Kingston Cattle Market Bus Station and Richmond Dee Road via Norbiton - Kings Road - (returns via Richmond Road) Tudor Drive - Dukes Avenue - Ashburnham Road - Sandy Lane - Richmond Hill. The route initially operated by Westlink from their Kingston (K) garage using Leyland Nationals. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn section of route 71 between Richmond and Kingston.

On 8 December 1990, the route was converted to midibus operation using Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Darts and double deck school journeys operated by Armchair was introduced.

On 16 May 1992, the buses towards Kingston were diverted via Park Road and London Road instead of Kings Road and Richmond Road.

On 31 October 1994, the Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Darts were replaced by Optare Vecta bodied MAN 11.190s.

On 15 September 1995, it passed to London United but still operating from Kingston (K) garage.

On 28 June 1997, it was diverted to terminate at Kingston High Street and Optare Excels were introduced.

On 3 November 2001, Kingston (K) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to Tolworth (TV) garage.

On 5 January 2002, the route was gradually converted to low floor operation using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

On 23 September 2002, double deck school journeys passed to London United operating from their Fulwell (FW) garage using a Volvo Olympian. 

On 14 October 2002, the Volvo Olympian was replaced by an low floor Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident.

On 28 April 2007, the allocation was transferred from Tolworth to Fulwell (FW) garages.

On 4 July 2009, the route was retained by London United using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts, a Scania OmniCity and brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200Hs.

On 30 April 2011, the route was extended from Richmond Dee Road to Richmond Manor Circus Sainsbury's.

On 2 July 2016, the route was retained by London United.

On 1 August 2016, the route was temporarily suspended. It was replaced by temporary route 565, 571 and 572.

On 3 September 2016, the route was restored.
