London Buses route 317 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Waltham Cross and Enfield Town, it is operated by Arriva London.
Route 317 was commissioned on 16 August 1987 and provided a service between ENFIELD TOWN and UPSHIRE. Originally operated by Sampson.
In 1988, the route passed to Leaside Buses operating from their Enfield (E) garage using MCW Metrobuses.
In 1994, the route passed to London Northern operating from their Potters Bar (PB) garage.
Route 317 was included in the sale of the business to MTL London in October 1994, which in turn was sold to Metroline in July 1998.
In 1999, the route was retained by Metroline using low floor Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
In 2004, the route passed passed to Arriva London operating from their Enfield (E) garage and was converted to double deck using Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 28 March 2009, the route was retained by Arriva London.
In July 2013, Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied B7TLs were introduced.
On 29 March 2014, the route was retained by Arriva London.
In 2014, Wright Pulsar Gemini bodied DAF DB250LF were introduced.
In 2015, the Wright Pulsar Gemini bodied DAF DB250LFs, the Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs and the Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied B7TLs were replaced by Wright Gemini 2 bodied VDL DB300s.
