London Buses route 219 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Wimbledon and Clapham Junction, it is operated by London General .
Route 219 commenced operating on 21 November 1987 between Sloane Square and Merton Garage via Kings Road - Beaufort Street - Battersea Bridge - Latchmere - Falcon Road - Clapham Junction - Wandsworth Common - Trinity Road - Tooting Bec - Tooting Broadway - Amen Corner - London Road - Mitcham Cricketers - Western Road as a Monday to Saturday route. The route was introduced to replace route 19 between Clapham Junction and Tooting Bec and route 88 between Tooting Broadway and Mitcham. The route was initially operated by London General from their Merton (AL) garage using Daimler Fleetlines.
On 17 June 1989, the route was diverted at Chelsea to South Kensington via Route 49.
On 25 May 1991, the northern section was reverted to Sloane Square terminus and southern section diverted at Tooting to Colliers wood instead of Mitcham and a Sunday service was introduced. MCW Metrobuses were introduced at the same time.
On 5 September 1992, the Daimler Fleetlines were withdrawn.
On 7 February 1993, the route was withdrawn between Battersea and Sloane Square.
On 14 January 1995, the route was withdrawn between Clapham Junction and Battersea.
On 2 December 1995, the route was withdrawn between Tooting and Colliers Wood.
On 30 June 1996, the route was converted to midibus operation using Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Darts.
On 12 December 1998, the route was extended to St George's Hospital via Garrat Lane, Fountain Road and Blackshaw Road returning via Tooting High Street.
On 29 May 1999, the route was diverted at Tooting via Colliers Wood and South Wimbledon to Wimbledon replacing withdrawn section of Route 155. The route was converted to low floor operation using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs at the same time.
On 3 June 2006, the route was retained by London General.
On 30 May 2009, the route was diverted at Clapham Junction to Asda instead of Falcon.
On 1 June 2013, the route was retained by London General with brand new Wright Streetlites introduced.
