London Buses route 211 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Hammersmith and Waterloo, it is operated by Abellio London.


Route 211 comenced operating on 17 July 1993 running between Waterloo Taxi Road and Hammersmith Bus Station via Westminster Bridge - Victoria - Sloane Square - Kings Road - Finborough Road - (return via Beaufort Street) Fulham Road - Fulham Broadway - Dawes Road - Fulham Palace Road. The route initially operated by London General from their Gillingham Street Basement (GB) garage using Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts. The route was introduced to replace Red Arrow route 511 between Waterloo and Victoria Stations and route 11 between Fulham Broadway and Hammersmith Stations.

On 4 December 1993, the allocation was transferred to Stockwell (SW) garage.

On 27 June 1998, the route passed to Travel London operating from their Stewarts Lane (LO) garage using Optare Excels.

On 19 August 2000, it was included in the sale of Travel London to Limebourne Buses and the allocation was transferred to Silverthorne Road (QB) garage.

In July 2001, it was included in the sale of Limebourne Buses to Connex.

On 23 November 2002, the route was converted to low floor double deck operation using brand new Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Tridents.

On 3 January 2004, the route was rerouted between Fulham and Sloane Square via Fulham Road and Sydney Street instead of via Worlds End.

In February 2004, the route was included in the sale of the business back to Travel London.

In May 2009, the route was included in the sale of Travel London to Abellio London.

On 30 June 2012, the route was retained by Abellio London using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s and Alexander Dennis Enviro 400Hs.

In 2016, New Routemasters were introduced on Sundays.

In June 2016, the route was converted to full New Routemaster operation.
