London Buses route 136 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Grove Park and Elephant & Castle, it is operated by Stagecoach London.


Route 136 commenced on 12 March 1994 between Grove Park Station and Peckham Bus Station via Downham Way - Downham - Catford - Lewisham - New Cross Gate. The route was initially operated by Stagecoach Selkent from their Catford (TL) garage using Leyland Titans. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn section of route 36B between Grove Park and Peckham.

In August 1995, ECW bodied Leyland Olympians were introduced.

On 24 February 2001, the route was converted to low floor operation using Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Tridents.

On 28 May 2005, the route was retained by Stagecoach London.

On 26 May 2012, the route was retained by Stagecoach London using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.

On 10 May 2014, the route was extended from Peckham to Elephant & Castle via route 343.

In 2015, brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 MMC bodied Volvo B5LHs were introduced.
