London Buses route 128 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Romford and Claybury, it is operated by Arriva London.
Route 128 was commissioned on 20 March 1993 and provided a service between Romford Station and Ilford Roden Street as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was operated by East London from their Barking Garage (BK) using Leyland Titans. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn section of route 129 between Romford and Becontree Heath.
On 4 December 1993, the operation was transferred to Romford North St (NS) Garage. In 1995 the operation was transferred to Stagecoach East London using the same type of buses. On 19 July 1997, the route passed to to Harris Bus from Thurrock (WT) Garage and a Sunday service was introduced.
On 25 March 2000, the route passed to East Thames Buses from Ash Grove (AG) garage. On 25 June 2004, the route was extended from Ilford to Claybury Broadway via withdrawn route 129.
On 15 October 2005, the route passed to Arriva London operating from their Barking (DX) garage using Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs.
In 2007, the route was converted into a 24 hour service.
In 2008, Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were introduced.
On 9 June 2012, route 128 was rerouted between Rush Green Road and Romford Station via Queens Hospital instead of Roneo Corner.
On 3 October 2012, the route was retained by Arriva London using Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs and Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.
