London Buses Route W19 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Ilford and Walthamstow, it is operated by Stagecoach London.
History[]
Route W19 commenced operating on 8 May 2000 between Ilford Hainault Street and Walthamstow Central Station via Romford Road - Manor Park - Station Road - Forest Drive - Aldersbrook Road - Blake Hall Road - Bush Road - Leytonstone High Road - Gainsborough Road - Grove Green Road - Leytonstone Station Plaza - Fairlop Road - Hainault Road - Essex Road South - James Lane - Hospital Road - Whipps Cross Road - Whipps Cross Roundabout - Whipps Cross - Lea Bridge Road - Leyton Green Road - High Road Leyton - Hoe Street - Selborne Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by First Capital from their Basildon (BL) garage using Reeve Burgess bodied Mercedes Benz 811Ds.
On 30 September 2000, the allocation was transferred to Dagenham (DM) and the Reeve Burgess bodied Mercedes Benz 811Ds were replaced by Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts.
On 1 December 2001, the route was converted to low floor operation using Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs and the route was extended to Waltham Forest Council Depot.
On 23 March 2002, the allocation was transferred to Rainham (R) garage.
On 20 September 2003, the route was extended to Argall Avenue Industrial Estate and Caetano Nimbus bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were introduced.
On 17 December 2005, Rainham (R) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to Dagenham (DM) garage.
On 25 November 2006, the route passed to Docklands Buses operating from their Silvertown (SI) garage using MCV Evolution bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. At the same time, an evening and a Sunday service was introduced but had to be curtailed at St James Street at these times because the Industrial Estate is closed.
On 14 May 2011, the route was transferred to Blue Triangle operating from their Rainham (BE) garage.
On 26 November 2011, the route was retained by Blue Triangle.
In March 2015, brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were introduced alongside the existing MCV Evolution bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 2 July 2016, Rainham (BE) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to River Road (RR) garage.
On 26 November 2016, the route passed to CT Plus operating from their Walthamstow Avenue (AW) garage using brand new 9.6m Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
On 7 December 2019, existing 10.2m Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were introduced alongside the existing 9.6m versions.
On 26 September 2020, the route was extended to serve Argall Avenue Industrial Estate at all times and no longer serving the council depot.
On 27 August 2022, the route was included in the sale of the HCT Group to Stagecoach London.
On 15 October 2022, the vehicles were renumbered to Stagecoach London fleet numbers.
On 25 November 2023, the route was retained by Stagecoach London.
