London Buses route W16 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Chingford Mount and Leytonstone, it is operated by CT Plus.
Route W16 commenced operating on 4 March 1989 between Chingford Mount and Leytonstone Station via New Road - Larkshall Road - Highmans Park - Wood Street - Leyton Green - Hainault Road - Fairlop Road - Grove Green Road. The route was initially operated by London Forrest from their Walthamstow (WW) garage using MCW Metroriders. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn section of route 235 between Leytonstone and Chingford Mount.
On 16 October 1991, the route passed to County Bus operating from their Edmonton (EC) garage using Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts.
On 21 January 1994, an evening service was introduced.
On 29 August 1998, the route W16 passed to Arriva London but still operating from Edmonton (EC) garage using Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts.
On 6 March 2005, the route was retained by Arriva London and was converted to low floor using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 3 March 2012, the route passed to First London operating from their Northumberland Park (NP) garage with brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced.
On 31 March 2012, the route was included in the sale of First London's Northumberland Park (NP) garage to Go-Ahead London.
