London Buses route K1 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between New Malden and Kingston, it is operated by Abellio London.
Route K1 commenced on 27 June 1987 between Surbiton Station and New Malden Police Station via Victoria Road - Upper Brighton Road - Hook Road - Ace of Spades roundabout - Thornhill Road - Red Lion Road - Tolworth - Barnsbury Lane - ( return via Vincent Avenue - Tolworth Rise South - Warren Drive South - Knollmead - Southwood Drive - Tolworth Rise South - Manor Drive North - Sheephouse Way - South Lane - Amberwood Rise - Malden Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by Westlink from their Kingston (K) garage using MCW Metroriders. The route introduced to replace the withdrawn section of Route 152 between Surbiton and Tolworth.
On 28 August 1993, a Sunday service was introduced between Kingston & Surbiton replacing lost section of Route 71.
On 9 March 1996, the route was rerouted between Malden Road and Sheephouse Way via Amberwood Rise and South Lane.
In September 1995, the route was included in the sale of Westlink to London United.
On 29 June 1996, the allocation was transferred to Fulwell (FW) garage, the MCW Metroriders were replaced by Duple/Carlyle bodied Dennis Darts and the route was extended from Police Station to Station in New Malden. At the same time, a full Sunday service was introduced, a School day journey was introduced between New Malden and Southborough School in Hook and a spur working from Thornhill Road to Ace of Spades roundabout and back was withdrawn.
On 6 September 1999, the Duple/Carlyle bodied Dennis Darts were replaced by Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts.
On 30 June 2001, the route was retained by London United and the Sunday allocation was transferred to Kingston (K) garage.
In November 2001, the route was converted to low floor operation using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.
On 3 November 2001, Kingston (K) garage was announced closed but both the Kingston (K) and the Fulwell (FW) allocations was transferred to Tolworth (TV) garage.
On 28 June 2008, the route was retained by London United with brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced.
On 29 June 2013, the route passed to Abellio London using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
On 11 March 2017, the allocation was transferred to Beddington Cross (BC) garage.
