London Buses Route H17 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Harrow and Wembley Central, it is operated by Metroline.
History[]
Route H17 commenced operation on 2 September 1989 between Harrow Bus Station and Sudbury Vale Farm Sports Centre via Harrow School - Sudbury Hill - Greenford Road - Whitton Avenue East - Bridgewater Road - Harrow Road - Watford Road as a Monday to Saturday service. the route was initially operated by R & I tours from their Park Royal (RI) garage using Lex Maxeta bodied Bedford YMQSs.
On 16 February 1991, the route passed to London Sovereign operating from their Harrow (SO) garage using Alexander bodied Mercedes-Benz 811Ds.
On 4 September 1999, the route was retained by Sovereign London and was converted to low floor operation using 9.3m Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. A evening service and a Sunday service was introduced and the route was diverted at Sudbury via Harrow Road, Chaplin Road, Ealing Road, Montrose Crescent, to Wembley Central Station Grove at the same time.
In November 2001, the 9.3m Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by 10.2m versions.
On 4 September 2004, the route was retained by London Sovereign.
On 3 September 2011, the route was retained by London Sovereign using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
On 6 January 2018, the operation was transferred to London United operating from their Park Royal (RP) garage.
On 1 September 2018, the route was retained by London United.
On 20 November 2018, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were replaced by brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
On 16 May 2020, the operation was temporarily transferred back to London Sovereign operating from Harrow (SO) garage and the Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds were temporarily replaced by existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
On 27 June 2020, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were replaced by existing Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
On 19 June 2021, the operation was transferred back to London United and operating from their Park Royal (RP) garage.
On 2 September 2023, the route passed to Metroline operating from their Willesden Junction (WJ) garage using existing Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
