London Buses route B14 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Orpington and Bexleyheath, it is operated by Stagecoach London.


History

Route B14 commenced operation on between Bexleyheath Shopping Centre and Queen Mary's Hospital via Friswell Place - Arnsberg Way - Bexleyheath Broadway - Crook Log - Danson Road - Danson Underpass - Penhill Roundabout - Penhill Road - Hurst Road - Foots Cray Lane - Bexley lane - Royal Road - Maylands Drive - Kimberley Drive - Longmead Drive - Onslow Drive - Royal Road - Bexley Lane - Rectory Lane - The Drive - St John's Road - Granville Road - Hadlow Road - Sidcup High Street - Elm Road - Chislehurst Road - Frognal Avenue - Frognal Place - Private Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by Ctystals from their Crayford (FR) garages using Plaxton bodied Mercedes-Benz. The route was introduced to replace withdrawn route 494.

On 19 May 2001, the route will be extended from Queen Mary's Hospital to Orpington and will be converted to low floor using Optare Solos.

On 19 October 2002, a Sunday service was introduced.

On 15 August 2003, the route was included in the sale of Crystals to Tellings-Golden Miller.

On 5 March 2005, the route was included in the sale of Telling-Golden Miller's Crayford (FR) garage to Metrobus and the allocation was transferred to Orpington (MB) garage.

On 4 February 2006, the route was rerouted westbound between Crittalls Corner and Q Marys Hospital via Watery Lane and Frognal Place and was rerouted at Albany Park - Buses now operate in both directions via Foots Cray Lane, Longmead Drive, Kimberley Drive, Maylands Drive and Royal Road to Bexley Road, thus withdrawn from the section of Bexley Lane between Longmead Drive and Royal Road.

On 18 March 2006, the Optare Solos were replaced by Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

On 12 April 2008, the operation round Albany Park loop was reversed, thus operating in both directions via Royal Road, Maylands Drive, Kimberley Drive, Longmead Road, Onslow Drive and Royal Road.

On 5 February 2011, the route was retained by Metrobus with brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts introduced.

In 2014, the Go-Ahead Group restructured its bus operations, which included the transfer of Route B14 from Metrobus to Go-Ahead London.

On 23 January 2016, the route was transferred to fellow Go-Ahead London subsidiary London Central operating from their Bexleyheath (BX) garage.

On 3 February 2018, the route passed to Stagecoach London operating from their Bromley (TB) garage using brand new Enviro 200 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E20Ds.
