London Buses route 389 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Barnet and Western Way, it is operated by London General

History

Route 389 commenced operating on 6 April 1996 between Barnet The Spires and Barnet The Spires via Barnet Church - High Barnet Station,Barnet Hill - Fairfield Way - Sherrards Way - Western Way - Grasvenor Avenue - Fairfield Way. The route was initially operated by Thamesway from their Ponders End (PE) garage using Marshall Master bodied Mercedes Benz 814Ds. The route was introduced to replace the section of route 399 between Barnet and Western Way.

On 26 September 1998, the route passed to First Capital but still operating from Ponders End (PE) garage using Marshall Master bodied Mercedes Benz 814Ds.

On 3 February 2001, the allocation was transferred to Northumberland Park (NP) garage.

On 7 April 2001, the route was retained by First London with a brand new Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLF.

On 8 April 2006, the route was retained by First London.

On 9 April 2011, the route was retained by First London.

In July 2011, the Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLF was replaced by brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Dart.

On 31 March 2012, the route was included in the sale of First London's Northumberland Park (NP) garage to Go-Ahead London.
