London Buses route 356 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Shirley and Upper Sydenham, it is operated by Stagecoach London.


Route 356 commenced operation on 24 June 2000 between Elmers End Tesco and Upper Sydenham as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was initially operated by Metrobus from there Green Street Green (MB) garage using Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts.

In 2002, the route was rerouted in Penge between Green Lane and Kent House Road direct via Thesiger Road instead of via Kings Hall Road and Lennard Road.

On 30 August 2003, the route was retained by Metrobus using low floor Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs, the route was extended from Elmers End Tesco to Shirley Monks Orchard and a Sunday service was introduced.

In 2008, the route passed to Stagecoach London operating from Catford (TL) garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.

In 2013, the route was retained by Stagecoach London.

On 17 March 2018, the allocation was transferred to Kangley Bridge Road Garage (KB).

The route will be retained by Stagecoach London from 15 September 2018.
