London Buses route 246 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Chartwell and Bromley, it is operated by London General
Route 246 commenced operating on 18 May 2002 between Bromley North Station and Chartwell via Bromley South - Pickhurst Lane - Hayes Station - Croydon Road - Keston - Leaves Green - Biggin Hill - Westerham - Chartwell. The route was initially operated by Metrobus from their Godstone (GD) and Orpington (MB) garages using 8.8m Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. Prior to 18 May 2002 the route was a commercial route.
On 30 August 2003, the route was retained by Metrobus with 10.7m Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs introduced and the route was diverted via Hayesford Park.
On 25 February 2006, Godstone (GD) garage was announced closed and the allocation was transferred to Orpington (MB) garage.
On 13 September 2008, the route passed to Selkent operating from their Bromley (TB) garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
On 14 October 2010, route 246 was included in the sale of Australian Bank Macquarie trading as East London Group to Stagecoach.
On 7 March 2015, a Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident was introduced.
On 12 September 2015, the route passed to London General with MCV Evolution bodied MAN 14.240s.
