London Buses Route 10 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Hammersmith and King's Cross, it is operated by London United RATP.

History

Route 10 was commissioned on 13 August 1988 operated by London Transport from their Shepherd's Bush (S) and Victoria (GM) garages and provided a service between Kings Cross and Shepherd's Bush Wells Road using Routemasters. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn sections of route route 73 between Hammersmith and Hyde Park Corner. In April 1989, an allocation was introduced from the London Northern garage at Holloway.

The route was extended to the back of Holloway (HT) garage via York Way and Brecknock Road. Initially this section did not run during early mornings, late evenings or Sundays, but a Sunday service was later added. Some journeys were then extended to Archway rather than terminating in Tufnell Park. These were then withdrawn. The route was reinstated following the withdrawal of local route C12 .

On 1 February 2003, the route passed to First London operating from their temporary base at Wood Lane using brand new Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs and was withdrawn between Archway and Kings Cross, this section was replaced by new route 390.

On 24 November 2003, the allocation was transferred to Westbourne Park (X) garage.

On 30 January 2010, the route passed to London United operating from their Stamford Brook (V) garage with brand new Scania OmniCitys introduced and was converted to a 24-hour service.

On 26 April 2014, the Scania OmniCitys were replaced by New Routemasters.

On 25 June 2016, the route was rerouted between Tottenham Court Road Station and Euston via Russell Square. Towards Kings Cross via Great Russell Street, Montague Street, Russell Square, Woburn Place, Tavistock Square, Upper Woburn Place and Euston Square to Euston Bus Station. Towards Hammersmith via Upper Woburn Place, Tavistock Square, Woburn Place, Bedford Place and Great Russell Street.

On 28 January 2017, the route was retained by London United.

The route will be discontinued from 24 November 2018.
