London Buses route 135 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Crossharbour and Old Street, it is operated by Stagecoach London.
History[]
Route 135 commenced operating on 24 May 2008 between Crossharbour and Old Street station. It was initially operated at a frequency of every 15 minutes off-peak and every 10 minutes during peak hours, with a maximum requirement of 13 double-deck buses. The route was initially operated by Arriva London from their Barking (DX) garage using brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.
On 7 March 2015, Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs were introduced alongside the existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s.
On 23 May 2015, the route passed to Docklands Buses operating from their Silvertown (SI) garage with existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s introduced.
On 18 June 2015, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were replaced by brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 MMC bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 17 September 2016, the route was be re-routed between Crossharbour and Canary Wharf via current route D3.
On 1 October 2018, existing Scania OmniCitys were introduced alongside the existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 MMC bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 8 April 2019, the Scania OmniCitys were replaced by existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400Hs.
On 23 October 2021, the route was converted to a full Alexander Dennis MMC bodied Volvo B5LH operation.
In December 2021, an existing Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E40H was introduced alongside existing Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 MMC bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 12 March 2022, the route was converted to a full Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 MMC bodied Volvo B5LH operation.
On 21 May 2022, the route was passed to Tower Transit operating from their Lea Interchange (LI) garage using existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
On 24 June 2022, the route was included in the sale of Tower Transit's Lea Interchange (LI) Garage to Stagecoach London.

Previous route 135s in London[]
The route number 135 was previously used for a service between Marble Arch and Archway via Camden Town. Operated by Metroline after privatisation, it was withdrawn on 2 September 2000 and replaced by extending route 88 to cover part of its route and increasing the frequency of route 134, which already ran over much of the 135 route.
